Meeting with JOGMEC Delegation
According to the task set by Asset Issekeshev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Kazakhstan the visit of KazGeology JSC delegation to Japan was arranged in April 2013 to establish cooperation with Japanese organization JOGMEC.
Active efforts to attract JOGMEC to joint operations with KazGeology JSC started within the frameworks of Subsoil in Exchange for Investments and Technologies Cooperation.
The negotiations to present brief geological information on promising projects were carried out during expired year. The parties started approval processes on cooperation agreements.
With the purposes to transfer to more active cooperation stage JOGMEC made a decision to visit KazGeology JSC to discuss further steps in cooperation of the two companies. The negotiations between the parties were held at KazGeology JSC office on the 10th of December.
Detailed information on the functions of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies and its structural divisions and agencies (Department of Subsoil Use, Committee on Geology and Subsoil Use), forms of KazGeology JSC cooperation with foreign investors, information of geological surveying of subsoil on investor’s account was provided and the options of cooperation of every party were discussed. JOGMEC presented the information on mechanisms of cooperation with partners in the sphere of geology and subsoil use.
After the meeting JOGMEC expressed its huge interest in cooperation in KazGeology JSC in particular in geological surveying of subsoil on investor’s account with further transfer to direct negotiations on prospect blocks identified. The parties decided that KazGeology JSC will provide its adjusted text of Agreement considering GS and information on prospect for GS areas.
